Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become an integral part of our daily lives, transforming the way we interact, learn and work. One particular aspect in which ICT has had a significant impact is its role as a situating tool. Reflecting upon “ICT as situating tool” lesson, I could recollect situating tool being defined as a tool to help learners experience the particular context and happenings using technology. We have also learnt the importance of situating tool and integrating it in the classroom teaching and learning. We discussed some of the situating tools which were simulation and virtual reality. Moreover, we have looked into simulation of two types 1) teaching about something (This included physical and interactive simulation) and 2) teaching how to do something (This included procedural and situational simulation). The interesting part, actually everything we studied was useful and interesting but for me it was the procedural simulation on virtual knee surgery

  When spring is around the corner, farmers of Paro, starts preparing for another wonderful time of the year. They concentrate more on rice cultivation than on any of the other cash crops (like maize, barley or wheat). By April, the rice seeds start to sprout and over the next few months they grow into seedlings for transplantation. The men of each household begin to get the paddy fields ready for plantation. Meanwhile, the women make sure that the households of the community work together. After the rice seedlings have been transplanted in the paddy fields, farmers have to do weeding for several days every month. It is a very hard and tedious task. They also make sure that their paddy fields neither dry up nor become too wet.   Zuri Dzong is one of the ancient fortresses located in Paro, Bhutan. Considered one of the oldest dzong, this ancient fortress dates back to 1352 and is home to the valley’s local protector. Built as a fort, the five-storey building is well protected by the surrounding double walls. The Zuri Dong is not an administrative centre. The fortress houses a fine collection of murals and paintings in the upper chapels dedicated to the protector Zaa (Rahulla). There is also a cave within the area where people believe Buddha meditated in the 8th century. Apart from its ancient rich history, the dzong is also famous for its stunning panoramic view of the entire Paro valley. The hike to reach Zuri Dzong is approximately 1.5 hours from National Museum Watchtower and an hour from Uma Paro Resort.
