Critical Analysis of Learning Experience

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become an integral part of our daily lives, transforming the way we interact, learn and work. One particular aspect in which ICT has had a significant impact is its role as a situating tool. Reflecting upon “ICT as situating tool” lesson, I could recollect situating tool being defined as a tool to help learners experience the particular context and happenings using technology. We have also learnt the importance of situating tool and integrating it in the classroom teaching and learning. We discussed some of the situating tools which were simulation and virtual reality. Moreover, we have looked into simulation of two types 1) teaching about something (This included physical and interactive simulation) and 2) teaching how to do something (This included procedural and situational simulation). The interesting part, actually everything we studied was useful and interesting but for me it was the procedural simulation on virtual knee surgery

Transplantation of paddy

When spring is around the corner, farmers of Paro, starts preparing for another wonderful time of the year. They concentrate more on rice cultivation than on any of the other cash crops (like maize, barley or wheat). By April, the rice seeds start to sprout and over the next few months they grow into seedlings for transplantation. The men of each household begin to get the paddy fields ready for plantation. Meanwhile, the women make sure that the households of the community work together. After the rice seedlings have been transplanted in the paddy fields, farmers have to do weeding for several days every month. It is a very hard and tedious task. They also make sure that their paddy fields neither dry up nor become too wet. Educational Purpose To teach about occupation The process of transplantation of paddy Traditional farming tools and modern farming tools

Reflection on Educational Tools in Teaching and Learning

In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, the integration of educational tools has become essential for effective teaching and learning. These tools, serving various purposes, offer both the educators and learners opportunities to enhance their instructional practices and engagement. This reflection paper aims to explore five categories of educational tools: informative, communicative, constructive, co-constructive, and situating tools. By examining their roles and impact, we can better understand their significance in facilitating meaningful educational experiences. Informative tools play a crucial role in providing access to knowledge and information. As a teacher-trainee, I have witnessed how digital resources, such as online databases, e-books, and educational websites, have expanded the breadth and depth of learning materials available to students. These tools enable learners to explore topics independently, broaden their understanding, and engage with current and rel

Zuri Dzong

Zuri Dzong is one of the ancient fortresses located in Paro, Bhutan. Considered one of the oldest dzong, this ancient fortress dates back to 1352 and is home to the valley’s local protector. Built as a fort, the five-storey building is well protected by the surrounding double walls. The Zuri Dong is not an administrative centre. The fortress houses a fine collection of murals and paintings in the upper chapels dedicated to the protector Zaa (Rahulla). There is also a cave within the area where people believe Buddha meditated in the 8th century. Apart from its ancient rich history, the dzong is also famous for its stunning panoramic view of the entire Paro valley. The hike to reach Zuri Dzong is approximately 1.5 hours from National Museum Watchtower and an hour from Uma Paro Resort. It’s a leisure hike through cypress and pine trees with beautiful views of Paro valley. We also had a beautiful view of the Paro Rinpung Dzong from the top as we hiked along the Zuri Dzong trail. ICT integration in Teaching and Learning: Empowerment of Education with Technology

Empowerment of Education with Technology By Shikha Kler The article titled “ICT Integration in Teaching and Learning: Empowerment of Education with Technology” discusses the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in the teaching and learning process. The author highlights the benefits of ICT integration, the three phases of successful ICT integration, factors influencing teachers’ adoption and integration of ICT, as well as barriers to the integration of ICT in education. ICT in education refers to the use of technological tools and resources such as computers, the internet, multimedia, and audio-visual aids to enhance the teaching and learning experience. It has revolutionized education by making the process more interesting, motivating, and flexible for both teachers and students. Paro Tshechu

The colourful tradition of tshechus began in  Bumthang  when Guru Padmasambhava helped to heal the king of the nation. Sindhu Raja, the then-king of Bhutan, was on the verge of death when Guru Padmasambhava, with his powers and belief, healed him. He performed a series of dance in Bumthang valley, which cured the ailment of the king. After the king was healed, he helped Guru Padmasambhava in promoting Buddhism in Bhutan. That is when the first tshechu was held, where Dance of Eight Manifestations of Guru Rinpoche was performed. During the Paro tshechu, the fifth and the last day witness a huge amount of crowd and excitement. No matter what, people do not miss the last day's celebrations, especially in the early morning. The day begins with the unwinding of a  Thangka  of Guru Rinpoche on the wall of the fortress. It is considered the most auspicious ceremony. People's life sins are believed to be washed away by having a look at this auspicious thongdroel. The ceremony takes
